This joke is not as straightfoward for those of you who aren't "in the know". Until September 12th, we had a special exhibit known as "The Forbidden City" which highlighted a place in China called, ironically enough, the Forbidden City. We also have an ongoing exhibit called the "Underground Adventure", with giant bugs and all sorts of cool stuff, but which is also considered a special exhibit and charged seperately. This is relevant because, given their seperately ticketed nature, you would end up hearing their name more often than our other exhibits as the guests would decide whether or not to check them out. The problem was, it was rarely ever the right name, and this comic highlights some of the more interesting screw-ups.
Basically it is a museum gag reel. There are actually at least a few more but, as I said, you get some of the more interesting ones here. Nowadays we have an exhibit on Machu Picchu, where the new joke is to figure out who has heard the most outrageous pronunciation. The only interesting thing I have noted personally is that people tend to make up all sorts of random pronunciations on purpose, to mock the fact that it is a hard name to pronounce. Take that ancient Incans!
