Why should you take the time to "vote" for a webcomic that you enjoy? It's just a big popularity game anyways, right? And, seriously, there's no chance of garnering the popularity of Penny-Arcade or MegaTokyo, is there?
Well, no. Probably not. But clicking that little button is still a good thing.
From an advertising point of view, higher ratings on the comic lists garner us more readership. These comic listings rank strips in terms of popularity... and the more popular strips are listed first. So, the higher-up on the list a particular strip is, the more likely it is that bored web-surfers will click on it in search of entertainment. (For extra style points, sign up for free at Online Comics and "favorite" us there... it's a much more meaningful vote). More readership means more happy people clicking the vote button, which leads to more readership, etc.
But more importantly, seeing that people like our little comic strips gives us a warm and happy feeling inside... the kind of feeling that can be mimicked by getting drunk, but is much cheaper. (And results in less headaches). We haven't made a dime off of this website yet... in fact, we've actually SPENT money to bring you these comics, as well as investing hours and hours of time coding, drawing, coloring, and so on. Just knowing the people appreciate us helps make it all seem worthwhile.
